Nicholas Knutson (b. 1986) was raised in suburban Brooklyn Park, MN and has been driven for years to fuse music and fine art and popular culture into one form. Since graduating from the College of Visual Arts (BFA 2009) he has continued to merge the multiple forms of media through video works. His work is concentrated into juxtapositions of culture, consumerism, history and ritualism and is presented with a hint of satire. Knutson is also an artistic contributor to Minneapolis based bicycle producer Surly Bikes, where he creates video works to define the obscure and comical brand image. He currently lives in Minneapolis, MN where he was born and plans to continue his artistic endeavors.
